About us

Uncommon Format is a Dubai-based beverage company building a portfolio of premium and mass-premium brands for the GCC. Our flagship brand, Gut Feeling — a prebiotic soda — launches across Saudi Arabia and the UAE in November. We are a small, fast-moving team, and Saudi Arabia is one of our priority markets (also, our Gut Feeling soda is produced in Saudi).

The role

We are looking for a freelance Marketing Executive to be our eyes, ears and hands on the ground in Saudi Arabia. We do not have an office in the Kingdom — you will be our local presence, representing the brand, building relationships and making sure things actually happen while the core team operates from Dubai.

This is a field-first role. It suits someone early in their marketing career who is social, organised and comfortable working independently — including students combining studies with freelance work.

Important: you must be based in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh or Jeddah) full-time and be able to work as an independent contractor — Saudi nationals with a Freelance Certificate (وثيقة العمل الحر), or residents legally permitted to freelance. This is a contractor engagement with our UAE entity, not employment in Saudi Arabia. Candidates based outside the Kingdom will not be considered.

What you'll do
• Events & activations: attend local events on our behalf, support brand activations, sampling and trade events, and network with relevant people
• Partnerships & collaborations: scout and negotiate local brand collaborations, venues and community partnerships
• Local production: coordinate the production of flyers, POS materials, stands, branded fridges and other marketing assets with local suppliers
• Retail checks: visit stores and HORECA venues to check product availability, shelf presence and POS execution, and report back with photos
• Content support: assist with local photo and video shoots — logistics, locations, talent, on-set support
• Marketing calendar: help plan the Saudi marketing calendar around local seasons and events (Ramadan, Saudi National Day, Riyadh Season, festivals, and similar)

What we're looking for
• Based in Riyadh or Jeddah, able to move around the city and occasionally travel between cities
• Able to work as an independent contractor and issue invoices
• 1–3 years of experience in marketing, PR, events, influencer marketing or a related field (internships count)
• Fluent in Arabic and English
• Genuinely social — comfortable walking into a room, meeting people and representing a brand
• Organised and reliable: you follow through without being chased
• Familiar with the Saudi events and F&B scene
• Driving licence and own transport is a strong plus
• FMCG, beverage or hospitality experience is a plus
• Students welcome — the schedule is flexible
